Jacqui Ferris has over 20 years experience working in executive search, recruitment and career coaching. Jacqui has consulted to and managed relationships for many leading global and local organisations in the area of coaching, outplacement, search, selection and RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing). Jacqui began her career in performing arts. She developed, ran, and then sold a successful private dance academy, which enabled her to fund her way into one of the UK’s leading Performing Arts schools. She graduated with a Bachelor in Performing Arts, including an Advanced standing from the Royal Academy of Dance London [ARAD]. She then went on to dance professionally and teach in vocational dance schools throughout the UK, Europe and New Zealand.
Jacqui’s international dance career taught her 3 key things: to have an unwavering commitment to yourself and your goals, the importance of discipline and focus, and that talent will only take you so far. These beliefs and values are equally applied in the world of business, talent selection and leadership. Jacqui’s vocation is centred upon performing at the top of her profession and working with individuals, partnerships, teams and corporations who strive to do the same. She has gained valuable insight into the drivers, and motivations of top performing people along with the behaviours that can enhance as well as derail peak performance. This hands-on, practicable experience is backed by academic qualifications and on going professional training, supervision and accreditation.
Having worked in key leadership roles inside large organisations, as well as an external consultant Jacqui brings a broad and deep understanding of the organisational dynamics that exist to her role as coach. She understands first hand, the complexity of today’s organisations, the resilience required by leaders to reach and sustain success and the speed at which they must operate. She is well versed in the opposing forces that must be navigated judiciously and the unique, politically challenging cultures that exist.
Her experience combines commercial credibility and practicality with intuition and empathy, underpinned by enduring relationships that have been forged sustained results and ongoing delivery. She engenders trust early on, which in turn leads to quality conversations and measurable shifts in thinking, behaviour and performance. Jacqui is a regular speaker and presenter within the Human Capital Management industry. She presented a workshop in 2008 at the Australian Talent Conference (ATC) on Managing and Retaining Talent During a Downturn.
